We are back...great another school year :(

The time is 7:56 pm and I am currently trying to prepare my mindset for when I have to go back to school.  Going back to school is such a riveting time of the year- is it not? The breeze of hot August air, your laptop moving around in your bag, and the alarm clock that notifies you as you haul ass to your next class. Nothing defeats that moment of when you have to do ice breakers and introduce to the entire boring class whom you are... and what your favorite color is. 

"Hello, my name is Ms. Kitty and my favorite color is Emerald."

The class slowly gives a face of disapproval as they are counting to see when they are next. What a hell of a time! Then the professor slowly gestures to the screen with their famous slide show "About the Class." How many damn times are we going to have to go over the syllabus and highlight the importance of vocational education? No offense Susan but you are not one to speak on vocations at the moment. The class lets out a deep sigh, twirls their eyes, and flips to the page everyone is dying to talk about: Attendance. Do not sit here and read this blog without telling me that all of you don't care about the attendance policy! EVERYONE CARES. That is the whole point of why we actually show up. To see if we can get out of the class or if our asses need to stay glued to our seats at all times. 

Once the professor is finally done with all that jazz... then comes the discussion of the first assignment. AND ANOTHER THING: You know how selfish it is to not make a slide about WHO YOU ARE AS A PROFESSOR! We wish to know what kind of psycho is gonna be grading our papers. Yet, you are more worried about our names and getting to know one another. I'm sorry... do I look like the type? That is usually how the first days of school go and all the awkwardness begins to sort of slip away. When that first discussion post hits, we have nothing to loose but the brain cells used to respond to 3 people by 11:59 pm.

The thing is that I do like school and the way it helps me receive my education... but that is truly it. Going back to school is exciting for 3 things:

1. Pumpkin Season

2. Hot Coffee

3. Sweater Weather 

Other than that... there is nothing truly useful about the environment of school and the ridiculous classes we gotta take with $2 in our bank account. THATS ANOTHER THING. WHY IN THE WORLD IS SCHOOL GETTING EXPENSIVE? DO YOU GUYS REALLY THINK WE HAVE MONEY TO AFFORD PAYING FOR ALL THESE CLASSES? I CAN BARELY AFFORD A COFFEE FROM THE CAFETERIA, LET ALONE TUITION! Sorry I had to write that in all caps, it only seems fair. But I know that as students in this cruel world, we are going to do our best we can to succeed in class. I don't want to also place negative energy upon those who are naturally studious. Carry on..

Can we just also talk about how exciting it is to go back to wearing sweaters and jackets? Not the snow... but the cute autumn that comes around the corner. I love when I see the students walking across campus in their oversized sweaters, holding their coffee containers, and wearing giant scarfs. UGHHHHH I CAN FEEL IT COMING IN THE AIR TONIGHT! (I love Phil Collins... no one can tell me no). By the way, Genesis needs to come back and do one more show. If that is possible, great..... if not, that is great. You take your time Phil!
